Jared Cummings is an award-winning saxophonist and sought-after teacher based in the southeastern United States. As an educator, Jared's academic appointments include a graduate teaching assistantship at Florida State University where he teaches undergraduate applied lessons, coaches saxophone quartets, teaches saxophone methods, and directs the FSU Saxophone Orchestra. In addition to his studies, he has led clinics and sectionals at several schools throughout the country, including Cass High School, Ray-Pec High School, and Holy Comforter Episcopal School. He has also been on the teaching staff at REW Music in Lenexa, Kansas where he taught private lessons both in-person and online.

Jared has presented numerous chamber and solo performances. Recent solo performances include appearing with the Cass High School Wind Ensemble at the Music for All Southeastern Regional Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, and the University of South Carolina Band Invitational. Jared has also given solo recitals at Georgia College and Middle Georgia State University. Past chamber performances include masterclasses and recitals at Troy University, University of Alabama, Samford University, and Columbus State University with the Red Hill Saxophone Quartet in Tallahassee, Florida. Prior to this collaboration, he was a member of the Crossroads Saxophone Quartet, performing at Revolution Records Kansas City, Porchfest, the Festival of Lights, and the 2020 Biennial North American Saxophone Alliance conference at Arizona State University.

Jared's accolades include receiving Second Place in the 2023 Charleston International Music Competition (Contemporary), and a Semifinalist Laureate award in the 2022 Fernand Decruck International Saxophone Competition in Paris, France. Other formative experiences include performing on masterclasses presented by leading saxophonists and pedagogues, including Chien-Kwan Lin, Robert Young, Sinta Quartet, H2 Quartet, and ~Nois. Jared has also attended the 2016 European University of Saxophone in Gap, France, where he received instruction from world-class instructors, including Claude Delangle, Arno Bornkamp, and Vincent David.

Jared's primary teachers are Geoffrey Deibel, Zachary Shemon, and Joseph Girard.
